Dictor 1.9.2 · 4.4 MB · while it runs, here is what comes next. Installing takes a minute, but at step two macOS will ask a question — and it is easier when you know about it in advance.
Nothing happening? Download manually.
Open the downloaded file — a window appears with the app and the Applications folder. Drag one into the other.
Do not launch Dictor from that window. macOS would run it from a throwaway copy, and every permission you grant would belong to a copy that is about to vanish.
You will see “cannot verify the developer”. It does not mean something is wrong with the app: it is signed, but not notarised by Apple — that is a paid procedure and it has not been done yet.
Open System Settings → Privacy & Security, scroll down to the line about Dictor and click “Open Anyway”.
That is roughly how it looks. You are asked once — updates never ask again.
Microphone, to hear you. Accessibility, to paste the text where your cursor is. Input Monitoring, to catch the shortcut. Without any one of them the app cannot work, and it will tell you which one is missing.
Put the cursor in any text field, hold right ⌘ and speak. Let go — the text appears where the cursor was. The shortcut is yours to change in settings.
